Setting up of C&R laboratories
Setting up of laboratories for conservation and preservation of cultural heritage. This technical and logistics support service includes the different stages of the setting up process: design, assembly, setting up, staff training and after sale assistance in respect of the equipment installed. This is an integrated service including equipment, logistics and technical support, determined by the nature, dimension and specification of the conservation and restoration laboratory.
Hygienization / Cleaning
Cleaning and sanitization of books and documents, careful elimination of dirt and dust by means of appropriated equipment. In document archives, depending of the state collection to be cleaned and sanitized, we propose two types of intervention with different degrees of sanitation: standard type / current sanitation: cleaning the front and back covers of the books or book sets. – Conservation type / sanitation for restoration: cleaning of books and sets of documents page by page.
Transport of collections
EXPM, provides services in relation to transport of collections, always observing good practice in handling, packing and moving of collections, in order to reduce the physical stress on the materials to be transported. We know that to its owner each document can represent much more than its material value. Thus, we handle all items with special care when transported.
EXPM Anoxia Bubble
Desinfestação anoxia do espólio: tratamento através de bolha de desinfestação por anoxia EXPM, para a erradicação de pragas de insectos infestantes em colecções. A desinfestação, quando necessária, é uma Intervenção anterior ao manuseamento da colecção. A bolha anoxia é uma desinsectação sem riscos para o acervo ou para as condições de trabalho dos Conservadores.
Digital Scanning
EXPM Ltd provides digital services of documents/book's for archives. These services are performed as a way of optimizing information in terms of space; quality and facility of access in case of need. It also provides counseling in respect of acquisition of technologies and software for document scanning. We provide advice from the selection of equipment to the selection of a good platform, which allows an easy search of the digitized contents.
Disaster Recovery
Corrective intervention under "Disaster Recovery” consists in a rapid response to contain or eliminate risk factors for the integrity of collections. An emergency intervention on collections exposed to conditions adverse to its conservation aims to stop the accelerated degradation process of these goods. Recovery service for collections damaged by unpredictable contingencies, such as flooding in reservations, to contain the progressive deterioration of materials caused by exposure to harmful circumstances.
